Maternity, Paternity, and Extended Leave Policy
Purpose:
Yellow Path is committed to supporting students who experience major life events, including pregnancy, childbirth, and related responsibilities, during their training. This policy outlines the options available to students who require a leave of absence due to maternity, paternity, or similar circumstances.
1. Leave of Absence – Pregnancy and Maternity
Students who become pregnant during their studies are entitled to request a leave of absence of up to 6 months.
During this period, [School Name] will hold the student's place for re-entry into the next available cohort, subject to space availability.
No additional tuition fees will be charged for re-entry within the 6-month window, although administrative fees (where applicable) may be waived at the school's discretion.
2. Return to Study
Students returning within 6 months will be supported to reintegrate into the training programme.
Students returning after more than 6 months may be required to join a subsequent cohort at a similar stage of training.
If returning after 6 months, an additional administrative and tuition adjustment fee may be applicable to cover additional teaching, assessments, and materials. This fee will be outlined in advance and will be kept reasonable and proportionate.
3. Conditions and Limitations
Due to the small cohort-based structure of our programmes, re-entry is subject to available space and the school’s ability to appropriately integrate the student without disrupting the educational experience of others.
Students are encouraged to notify the school as early as possible if they anticipate needing maternity leave to enable planning and support.
4. Refunds and Deferrals
As per our enrollment terms, refunds are not available once training has commenced.
Deferrals for reasons unrelated to maternity, paternity, or other protected life events are not normally granted.
5. Non-Discrimination
[School Name] is fully committed to complying with the Equality Act 2010 and ensuring that students are not disadvantaged or treated unfavorably due to pregnancy, maternity, or associated responsibilities.

Students needing advice or wishing to discuss maternity or paternity-related absences should contact [Designated Staff Member] at [contact email or phone number].
