How We Can Help

Affordable Five-Element acupuncture in London. Treatments delivered by Yellow Path students under close clinical supervision.

  • In Five-Element acupuncture, stress and anxiety are seen as the outcome of a disturbance in the natural flow of energy that helps us transition from one emotional  state to another. When the five elements lose their natural equilibrium, what we call stress or anxiety, shows as emotional symptoms that arise as an indication that the balance has been lost. Treatment helps restore the natural order in a person so that they can deal with difficult situations and/or people in their life and not lose that all important equilibrium.

  • Low energy is seen as a sign that either the body’s deeper reserves are struggling to keep pace with life’s demands or the natural flow has been compromised in some way. Five-Element treatment works to rebuild balance and harmony which in turn brings vitality and strength.

  • Digestive difficulties are often linked to imbalance in how the body transforms and distributes nourishment, both physical and emotional. Five-Element acupuncture helps restore ease and rhythm in these processes. As balance improves, symptoms such as discomfort, bloating, or irregularity often reduce naturally.

  • Sleep problems arise when there is insufficient harmony between the external activity of the day and the internal activity of the night that is needed to have deep restorative rest. Five-Element acupuncture helps support this dual process by restoring an inner balance and harmony. Over time, this encourages deeper, more restorative rest and a clearer sense of renewal on waking.

  •  Five-Element acupuncture was originally developed as preventative medicine. By isolating the cause of imbalance in a person, treatment helps maintain the correct inner balance that keeps us alive and gives us the ability to thrive. Health was considered to be our ability to recover from the normal pressures of life, rather than expect to always be well. Regular treatment helps the body adapt to change, preventing imbalance before it becomes illness. This approach supports long-term resilience and emotional as well as physical wellbeing.

  • From a Five-Element perspective, hormonal symptoms reflect disrupted cycles and internal timing that affect the endocrine system. Treatment supports the organs that work together to ensure smoother transitions and restore coherence within the body’s natural rhythms. Care is personalised, acknowledging that each person’s balance is unique.

  • Pain is understood as a sign that flow and communication within the system are restricted. Five-Element acupuncture helps release holding patterns and restore movement and ease. This often reduces both the frequency and intensity of pain, while addressing underlying stress patterns.

  •  Low immunity is seen as a symptom that can be the outcome of an overall imbalance within all the organs. Rather than focus on low immunity as a symptom to be corrected, the Five-Element acupuncturist works to restore an inner balance and harmony - the result being a stronger and more efficient system affecting every area of the person’s health. Over time, this can lead to fewer illnesses and greater overall resilience.

  • In Five-Element acupuncture, fertility is approached by recognising that every part of us is required to be healthy in order to be fertile. Treatment focuses on bringing back a general sense of well being by reducing stress and restoring confidence in the body’s natural intelligence. This creates a more supportive internal environment for conception and reproductive health.

Iris Gibson

Student Practitioner
Hi, I’m Iris, It has been my own journey of receiving treatment from a then student and now Five-Element practitioner, following a period of ‘burnout’ and ill health, that was the springboard to this training. Also, a desire to learn more, and a lifelong passion and awe to the wonder of nature in its simplicity and complexity, where Five-Element theory and practice is rooted. I have felt in the short, medium and longer terms benefits in body, mind and spirit through this incredible system of medicine, leading me to become a humble student again, and hopefully help others through becoming a Five-Element practitioner. Previously, I have trained and worked as a Doctor in the NHS for over 30 years, mainly in the field of mental health. I feel there is a place for both Eastern and Western systems of medicine in obtaining and maintaining balance and wellbeing.

Katie Collins

Student Practitioner
Hi, I'm Katie I was first introduced to Five-Element Acupuncture when I was struggling with fertility. What I didn’t expect was how much Acupuncture would support me beyond this. Today, I'm incredibly grateful to have two children, and I continue to have regular Five-Element Acupuncture treatments because of the lasting impact they have on my wellbeing. It leaves me feeling calmer, more balanced, more energised and more connected to myself. The best way I can describe it is simply: "This is what I am meant to feel like." Five-Element Acupuncture isn't just about treating symptoms. It's about restoring balance so that the mind, body and spirit can function as they were designed to. Before becoming an acupuncturist, I completed a BSc in Psychology and went on to work as a secondary school Science and Psychology Teacher for over 14 years. After having my second child, I found myself looking for a career that truly reflected my passion for helping people and aligned with my own experience of holistic health. Training in Five-Element Acupuncture felt like the perfect path. It gave me the opportunity to deepen my understanding of this remarkable system of medicine that had supported me so profoundly, while allowing me to help others experience the same benefits.

Mira Berecz

Student Practitioner
Hi, I’m Mira,
My journey into Five-Element Acupuncture has been a gradual unfolding of everything I’ve been curious about for years: the relationship between the body, mind and spirit, and the quieter things that exist beneath what we can immediately see. Before finding this path, I worked in fashion as an Art Director. Although I loved the creative side, I realised that the nature of that world didn’t feel aligned with the way I wanted to live. I eventually left, began travelling, completed my training as a massage therapist and continued working freelance, slowly creating a life that felt more spacious and intentional. I was drawn to Five-Element Acupuncture because of its unique holistic approach. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, it invites us to understand each person as an individual, recognising their unique nature and supporting them on a journey back towards balance. The more I learn, the more I experience how powerful this approach can be. It has taught me to listen more deeply, to notice subtle changes in myself and others, and to see the body as something endlessly fascinating, constantly communicating. Alongside my acupuncture studies, I’m also the founder of Alchème Studio, where I explore wellbeing through tea, ritual, sensory experiences and slower ways of being. My work with tea has become another way of creating space for presence and connection, and I find that the two practices naturally inform one another. In the clinic, I hope to offer a space where you can feel listened to. For me, this approach of medicine is ultimately about coming home to ourselves. Are you curious?

Vanessa Ketchell

Student Practitioner
Hi, I’m Vanessa, I was first treated with Five-Element Acupuncture at the Kite Clinic 15 years ago, and it was here that I discovered the transformative qualities of this wonderful ancient practice. The positive effect of the treatments on my mental, physical and spiritual health, was the inspiration I needed, and the reason that I now find myself on the way to becoming a qualified practitioner with Yellow Path today. My background is in media. After graduating in International Marketing with French, I lived and worked abroad for some time, before returning to the UK to spend over 10 years in programme making at the BBC. I continue to work in a creative field, running an animation company with my husband, alongside my studies. I have always held a strong belief in a holistic approach to healing, and after leaving the BBC I gained a First Class Honours degree in Psychology and trained extensively in further complimentary therapies. However, it is Five-Element Acupuncture, with its roots in nature that resonates most deeply with me. My learning journey at Yellow Path has been a gift of insight into what we as humans have always known, but have maybe lost touch with. I believe that there is no right or wrong way to feel. We are all unique and our experiences and life events shape us in so many different ways. As I move into clinical practice under the guidance of Yellow Path, I bring with me, an ability to listen deeply, as well as an intuitive and empathic approach to my practice. Five-Element Acupuncture is more than just a treatment, it is an introduction to your own unique journey of potential. I look forward to welcoming you, and helping you on your pathway to improved balance and health.

Edwina fitzPatrick

Student Practitioner
Hi, I'm Edwina, I qualified as a Shiatsu (Traditional Chinese Medicine massage) practitioner 25 years ago. In the meantime, life as a professional artist and university academic took over, but my interest in supporting people’s wellbeing never waned. I am returning home to this long tradition of medicine, now as an Five-Element acupuncturist.

Otoa Ise

Student Practitioner
Hi, I’m Ottie. For over 20 years, I’ve worked with complex systems - understanding how things work together as a whole - building products at Google and helping shape a holistic approach to health and wellbeing in the early days of LEON. Now I’m bringing that principle to the individual level, to mind, body and spirit, helping people flow in their own universe with Five-Element acupuncture. We often try to do things to become better - eat the right foods, create healthy habits, learn new things… these are great, but we can also do less to allow us to just be. And sometimes, that’s enough for life to become a bit more fun. Well, that’s my experience with this ancient system of medicine, and I’m here to help you do the same. “She has immense intuition… When Ottie is around, great things happen.” — Winning Not Fighting, John Vincent, co-founder/CEO of LEON

Stella Berkofsky

Student Practitioner
Hi, I’m Stella, My first interaction with Five-Element Acupuncture was in treatment with Gerad Kite when I was 9 years old, shaping my understanding of the world and my own experience within it. Alongside a full and exciting creative career, my training as a Five Element Acupuncturist has expanded my capacity for helping others see things anew, offering them an opportunity for further growth and self expression. The poignancy and wisdom of this beautiful tradition make it a joy to share and use practically, providing new ways of relating both to the internal and external experience.

Laura Buchan

Student Practitioner
Hi, I'm Laura, I first discovered Five-Element Acupuncture through a friend who had trained at Yellow Path. At that time in my life, the balance I found through Five-Element treatment gave me much-needed respite for my mind, body and spirit. It brought clarity, calm and a renewed sense of myself, helping me move forward with greater confidence and purpose. A few years later, an opportunity arose for me to relocate, giving me the chance to reimagine my future and pursue a new direction. After twenty years as a Primary School Teacher and Early Years specialist, I have returned to study and am training in the art of Five-Element Acupuncture. Through this tradition, we restore balance to the Five Elements—Fire, Earth, Metal, Water and Wood—to support spiritual, physical and mental wellbeing. Training as a Five-Element Acupuncturist has been life changing. It is a privilege to help others experience the sense of balance, clarity and renewed wellbeing that first inspired me to walk this path. I look forward to welcoming you and supporting you on your own journey towards better health.
