CLASSROOM PATIENT INFORMATION

Come and help our students learn

As part of their training in Classical Five-Element Acupuncture, Yellow Path students learn not only from filmed content and lectures but from meeting and interacting with real people. We regularly invite people to come into our classroom and spend some time with our students under the supervision of one of our experienced teachers. We call these, “Patients in Class”.

What happens?

You will meet a small group of Yellow Path students and one of our teachers. The students will have an opportunity to talk with you; ask you questions and make a Classical Five-Element diagnosis. These can include the way someone communicates and interacts, their colour, voice, emotional expression, demeanour and pulses.

There are no right or wrong answers - you simply need to be yourself.

You can decline to answer anything you don't want to talk about, and you can stop participating at any time.

What happens afterwards?

Once you have left, the students and teacher will discuss what they observed and what they learned from meeting you. This is an important part of their training. Anything personal that you tell us is treated as confidential and our students are required to maintain that confidentiality outside the classroom.

Will I be diagnosed?

The students will be developing their Classical Five-Element diagnostic impressions, but this is first and foremost a teaching session, not a medical assessment. Nothing arising from the session should be regarded as a conventional medical diagnosis or replace appropriate medical advice.

What if I become interested in having treatment?

There is absolutely no obligation to become a patient. If you would like to explore Classical Five-Element acupuncture further, we can tell you about opportunities through our Student Clinic or Low-Cost Clinic. Where appropriate, we may also offer you a complimentary consultation with one of our teachers. This is entirely optional and separate from your participation in the teaching session.

Your privacy

We will only ask for information that we need to arrange and conduct the teaching session. Because you may talk about aspects of your physical or emotional health, some of the information shared may be sensitive personal information. We will explain how this information is used and ask for your consent before the session.

INTERESTED IN TAKING PART?

Please contact admin@yellowpath.com

directly and let us know that you are interested in becoming a “Patient in Class”. We will then arrange everything with you directly.
